Kickboxing at the BMA is a great way to keep your child fit and active and is a long term commitment to learning and improving.
Each child will be encouraged to work hard and learn a full range of techniques. At a basic level they learn press ups, sit ups and squats to increase their core strength and ability to perform the techniques. They learn how to stretch and become flexible. The warm ups are mixed with sprints and various other exercises designed to create co-ordination and again increase core strength. Core strength and co-ordination are for life and will help them no matter what they choose to take part in later in life.
The main training is based on a syllabus of techniques. The syllabus is for grading in light, semi and full contact kickboxing. Alongside this we also teach K1 techniques.
We do not force every child to spar but we do encourage this. It is a big part of being able to show you are learning the techniques. Sparring is controlled with protective equipment.
Please note no contact training is taking place at the moment due to Covid.
The Instructors are insured, first aid trained and CRB/DBS checked.

Adult Kickboxing is for over 16 years and has two types of training; Kickboxing based on light, semi and full contact training, and Kickboxing with K1 techniques.
Kickboxing is a great all over workout which can be physically and mentally demanding. It comprises of striking and kicking techniques and is mostly based on working on pads. This is great for weight loss and toning, helps build confidence and can be a fun social lesson.
Lessons do involve partner work and some controlled sparring. We can make this suitable for any level. Protective equipment must be worn.
The Kickboxing lessons are graded for those that want to earn a black belt.
Please note due to Covid there is currently no contact training. You must bring your own kit, towel and drink. If you have Covid symptoms or been around anyone who has tested positive please stay away.
