You need to understand why you want to train and set yourself some goals. They can be short term or long term goals. Short term goals for if you want to get stronger can be as simple as be able to do 20 press ups and 5 pull ups with a long term goal to be a lot stronger and fitter. If you want to gain a black belt you need to work one belt at a time, and if you want to compete you'll need to learn the skills before sparring so the combination of the short term goals of increased strength and gaining belts drives on the ability to then have the skills to compete. Understanding why you want to train will help motivate you to keep going.
Pick a time from the timetable, text to say you are coming and then visit the venue, see the people training there.
You will need to complete a BMA Membership form.
Then join in a free lesson to see what you think.
Once you are happy you can become a member by setting up a standing order of £30 per month using the below details to start near the beginning of your training:
